Webcasting: 10am - 12.30pm

Lunch: 12.30pm - 1.30pm

Workshops: 1.30pm - 4pm

Most of us in the cultural sector know by now that social media and mobile tools are great for building relationships and increasing engagement. But how many of us are exploring such tools to increase marketing and raise crucial funds?

Sarah Gee will show how crowdfunding tools can assist in fundraising by engaging audiences, visitors and donors in a completely new way, and announce a new Scottish crowdfunding site designed specifically for the cultural and creative sectors. Rachel Beer will illustrate the power of digital tools and techniques to build audiences and raise profile.

Attendees who are ready to get their hands dirty and try out some of the new new tools and techniques for themselves can register to stay for the afternoon workshop sessions. These are small-group intensive sessions so please book early to assure your place.

This joint AmbITIon Scotland and Arts & Business Scotland event offers arts organisations and artists an unrivalled opportunity to hear how the power of new digital tools can be harnessed by arts organisations and artists to take forward their creative ambition.

These learning events are free to attend.  However, a £25 deposit is requested to hold a space in the small group workshop. A £10 catering charge will be applied for those delegates who would like to attend the networking lunch.  Please register separately for each part of the day.

What will I learn?
  • How Scottish cultural organisations can make the most out of new crowdfunding opportunities.
  • How Scottish cultural organisations can build relationships with funders using social media & mobile tools.
  • How organisations like yours are using these tools in innovative new ways to increase their fundraising income.
  • Where can I get more (free / low cost) help and advice?

Workshops - for those who are ready to put some of the ideas from the morning into action

With more than 80% of the UK population now online* and more people every day using the web, either via a PC, tablet or smartphone to shop, access information and access services online, most not for profit organisations understand the importance of taking their first steps in digital fundraising.  But, if budget and human resources are limited, if you haven't made your first foray into individual giving yet or you feel a bit bewildered by the vast array of digital channels, what's the best way to get started?

Workshop 1 - Rachel Beer

This participatory workshop will help you to unleash some of the untapped fundraising potential your organisation already has through its website and marketing activities and give you the tools to integrate fundraising in a way that makes the most of the opportunities you have in your network.  You will learn about some of the different digital channels that can be used to fundraise and how to put these to best use.

Workshop 2 - Sarah Gee

This interactive workshop will allow participants to explore how they might take advantage of new crowdfunding tools.

Workshop attendees will be able to participate in both workshops.  Places are limited so please limit your registration to one attendee per organisation.  To give everyone equal access, this limitation will be strictly enforced by the event organisers.
